Philipp Lahm

Philipp Lahm is a German international football player who currently features for the German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich. He is a versatile defender who can play either as a right-back or as a left-back and is considered by many as the most complete and most balanced left back in the world.

Philipp Lahm developed at the youth academy of German powerhouse Bayern Munich and was renowned for his phenomenal talent from a very young age. His first taste of Bundesliga football came at VFB Stuttgart for which he played on loan from Bayern for two seasons between 2003 and 2005 and was mostly impressive.

Lahm was recalled to the Bayern Munich set-up at the start of the 2005-2006 season. He was not very effective that year because of the recuperation from his injuries he had suffered the previous seasons but established himself as one of the best in his position in the 2006-2007 season. Lahm has since been a regular for Bayern Munich since then and has attested his ability to play both as a right-back as well as a left-back.

Philipp Lahm made his international debut for Germany against Croatia in 2004 and has played in over 50 international matches for his nation. Lahm was part of the German national side in Euro 2004, 2006 Wolrd Cup finals and Euro 2008.
