In 2006, he was called up from the Orioles AAA affiliate, the Ottawa Lynx, when regular second baseman Brian Roberts went on the disabled list.
Since that time, Brandon has bounced up and down to the Orioles - and as of July 21, 2008 is on their roster and playing shortstop. Although his defensive skills are premium, he cannot hit left-handed pitching.
