Freddie Lee Bynum Jr. was born on March 15, 1980 in Wilson, North Carolina. He is a shortstop in the Baltimore Orioles organization (a starter in 2008, he was sent back to the minors on July 19, 2008).

Freddie is 6'1", weighs 190 pounds, bats left and throws right.

High School
Freddie graduated from Beddingfield HS in North Carolina.

College
Freddie attended Pitt County Community College in North Carolina.

Minor Leagues
Freddie came up in the Oakland As farm system, starting in 2000 with the Vancouver Canadians in the Northwest League.

Major Leagues
Freddie made his major league debut with the Oakland As on August 30, 2005.

On March 31, 2006, the Cubs acquired Bynum from the As in a three-way deal, giving the Texas Rangers John Koronka, while the Rangers sent Juan Dominguez to the As to complete the deal.

On December 6, 2006, he was dealt to the Baltimore Orioles for a player to be named later (Kevin Hart).

Freddie was designated for assignment by the Baltimore Orioles on June 22, 2008 and was sent to the minors a few days later. He was recalled by the Orioles on July 1, but sent back to the minors once again on July 19.

Freddie has excellent defensive skills, but cannot hit.
