Samir Nasri

Samir Nasri is a young French international footballer who currently features for the Premiership giants Arsenal. Samir Nasri plays as an attacking midfielder and is said to be the next Zinedine Zidane.

Samir Nasri is of Algeria origins. His grandparents moved from France to Algeria. Nasri grew up in La Gavotte Peyret and played mostly on the streets. He was soon picked up by French giants Marseille for whom he started playing when he was just 9 years of age.

Nasri made his debut for Marseille in 2004 and played for them until the summer of 2008. Nasri began to show signs of promise from the very start and comparisons with the French legend Zinedine Zidane soon started to float in the air.

In May 2007, Nasri was named French Ligue 1 Player of The Year and in the summer of 2008 he was signed by Premiershp giants Arsenal on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee. Samir Nasri played 121 league matches for Marseille.

Samir Nasri received his first international cap for France on March 28,2007 against Austria when he was just 19 and was part of the French squad at Euro 2008.
