Jan Hejda is a Czech defenseman on the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Hejda was drafted by Buffalo in 2003. , but continued playing in the Czech Extraliga and the Russian Superleague before coming to the NHL. His rights had been traded to Edmonton by the time he came to North America, and he spent the 2006-07 season with the Oilers. In 2007, he put in an excellent season after signing with the Blue Jackets. He finished with 13 points and a +20 rating.
