In 2004, Ellis won his first NHL start over the Los Angeles Kings. Ellis wouldn't play in another game, until the 2007-08 season in Nashville. That season, he started 37 games, and won 23, while posting a 2.34 GAA. Behind his stellar play in net, the Predators turned their season around, and made the playoffs.
