John George Terry is an England international football player who currently features for the English Premier League giants Chelsea. He is a central defender and is considered as one of the best players of all time.
John Terry is a graduate of the Chelsea youth academy and made his Chelsea debut in October 1998 as a late substitute in a League Cup tie with Aston Villa. He started his first match for Chelsea in an FA Cup third round match against Oldham Athletic.
Terry soon came to become a regular of Chelsea and has now played more than 300 matches in all competitions. However at the turn of the century, John Terry was involved in an incident at a West London nightclub with his teammate Jody Morris and Wimbledon’s Des Byre but was cleared of all charges.
John Terry has have had his due share of flings with injuries but he has always made the comebacks with more professionalism.
John Terry made his international debut for England in 2003 and featured for his nation at Euro 2004 and the 2006 Germany World Cup. He was given the England captain’s armband in August 2006 as David Beckham stepped down from that role. He has played close to 50 matches for England.
John Terry was voted the best defender in the 2005 UEFA Champions League and the PFA Players’ Player of the Year in the same year.
