Dan Hamhuis is a Canadian defenseman on the Nashville Predators.
Hamhuis was drafted by Nashville in 2001, with their first pick. Hamhuis is a hard hitting, yet offensively productive defenseman, and is contracted to play with Nashville through 2010. 2005-06 was his best statistical season, with 38 points and 70 penalty minutes in 82 games.
He played for Canada at the 2001 and 2002 World Junior Championships, as well as the 2006, 2007 and 2008 World Championships. He won a gold medal in 2007, a silver in 2002 and a bronze in 2001.
