Arjen Robben is a Dutch international footballer who features for the Spanish and European giants Real Madrid. Robben is a world class winger whose bags full of tricks, pacy runs along the flanks, accurate crosses and intricate dribbling have contrived to make him one of the best and most entertaining players in the world.

Robben commenced playing football with local club W Bedum in the province of Groningen and was soon signed by FC Groningen. At Groningen, Robben started in the lower tiers of the club but quickly grasped the rungs of the ladder and climbed to the first team at the start of the 2000-2001 season and has never looked back since.

He featured 46 times for Groningen from 2000-2002 and was signed by Dutch giants PSV Eindhovem in the summer of 2002 for 3.9 million euros. He played two seasons at PSV, featuring in 56 maches and scoring 17 goals. Then Chelsea came calling and Robben was off to the Premiership outfits for a jaw-dropping 18 million euros.

Although he is fondly remembered for the three seasons that he played at Stamford Bridge, he was frequently injured. Arjen Robben made just 67 appearances for Chelsea and much of this owes to the fact that Robben had to frequent the medic’s table far too often,

Arjen Robben was signed by the world’s biggest and most popular club Real Madrid in the summer of 2007 for just over 36 million euros but he failed to appear regularly for the Merengues again because of injuries. Yet he returned in the latter half of the 2007-2008 season and helped Real Madrid successfully defend their La Liga title.

Arjen Robben is also a Dutch international winger and has featured 27 times for the Orange. He played in Euro 2004 and World Cup 2006.
