Francesc “Cesc” Fabregas Soler, popularly known as Cesc Fabregas, is an international football player who currently features for the Premiership giants Arsenal. He is an attacking midfielder, a box-to-box midfielder actually.
Cesc Fabregas commenced his footballing career at Spanish giants FC Barcelona where he developed as a youngster. But when he was 16 years of age, he was persuaded by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to move to the Emirates in September 2003 before he had signed a professional contract with the Catalan giants.
Cesc Fabregas made his debut for the Gunners in 2003 when he played in a League Cup tie at home to Rotherham United and in doing so became the youngest Arsenal first team player ever at 16 years and 177 days. He then became the club’s youngest ever first team goalscorer when he scored in a 5-1 defeat of Wolverhampton Wanderers in the League Cup later that season.
Cesc Fabragas of course had to wait for making the first team but with the depature of Patrick Vieira to Juventus in the summer of 2005, the young Spanish matador got his chance and is now firmly the fulcrum of this entertaining and slick Arsenal side. He is regarded by many as the best central midfielder in the Premiership and has played more than 150 matches in all competitions for the Gunners.
Cesc Fabreagas made his international debut for Spain in 2006 against Ivory Coast in a friendly international match. He represented his nation at the 2006 Germany World Cup and at Euro 2008.
