Thierry Henry is a French international striker and plays for the Spanish and European giants FC Barcelona. Henry is considered as one of the best strikers in the world and one of the best players of all time. He has been a phenomenon at his former club Arsenal for whom he holds the record of being the all-time leading goalscorer.
Thierry Henry was born and bred in the difficult neighbourhood of Les Ulis, Essonne—a suburb of Paris. He was scouted by French side AS Monaco in 1990 and made his professional debut for the principality club four years later in 1994. He was called to the international side in 1997 and won the World Cup with France in 1998, top scoring for his nation with 3 goals.
He was signed by Juventus in the summer of 1998 but he was mostly played on the wings at Juventus and was picked up by Arsene Wenger at Arsenal in the summer of 1999 for just under 10 million pounds.
It was at Arsenal that Thierry Henry developed into a world class player with remarkable entertaining quality. His pace, accuracy and great dribbling quality made him an instant favourite among the Gunners supporters.
He played for Arsenal until the end of the 2006-2007 season. He is Arsenal's leading scorer of all time with 226 goals in all competitions. Henry won the Premiership twice with Arsenal and three FA Cups and also reached the final of the UEFA Champions League in 2006. He was named the PFA Players' Player of the Year twice, and the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year three times.
Henry was signed by Barcelona in the summer of 2007 but he has been ineffective in his first season in Spain and there are talks that he would be offloading in the summer of 2008.
Henry also won Euro 2000 with France and played for France at the 2002 World Cup, Euro 2004 and 2006 World Cup.
