Carlos Idriss Kameni is a Cameroonian international footballer who currently features for the Spanish football club Espanyol. He is a goalkeeper.
Carlos Kameni came into prominence at the 2000 Olympics when just 16 he won the gold medal with Cameroon. He was drafted into French side Le Havre that year but failed to break into the first team.
After four seasons in France and making just 3 league appearances for Le Havre, Kameni movedto Espanyol in the summer of 2004 where he was quickly inducted into the first team. He is now a regular first choice for Espanyol and has made more than 100 league appearances.
Carlos Kameni made his full international appearance for Cameroon in 2001 and has played 32 matches his nation. He featured at the 2004 African Nations’ Cup and was adjudged as the best African goalkeeper in the 2006-2007 season.
