He stands 5'6" tall, and uses an Orthodox stance. His manager is Shane Bailer, and his trainer is Roy Hilder.

His greatest match to date and the one which propelled his career forward was against Luis Alberto Perez for the IBF Bantamweight title on September 29, 2007. The match started with little-known Agbeko being the underdog in the match. Early in the match, Agbeko outpunched and outclassed Perez and continued to dominate until the very end. Agbeko shocked the crowd and boxing community by knocking out the defending champion Perez at the end of round 7. He impressed everyone with his overall performance during the fight, dodging every attack from Perez and landing every punch on him with authority.

Joseph Agbeko is a great knockout artist, having made 22 knockouts from the 26 fights he had. His professional record is 25 wins with only one loss, losing to Wladimir Sidorenko in a WBA Inter-Continental Bantamweight title match back in May 18, 2004. He is slated to defend his current IBF Bantamweight title against William Gonzales on August 2, 2008.

If Agbeko continues his dominance in the ring by continuing his rampage of knockouts, then his career is sure to look bright. Fans and opponents alike will see more of Agbeko in action, as this young boxer is still towards the best years of his career.
