Chamu Chibhabha

Chamu or Chamunorwa Justice Chibhabha is a cricketer from Zimbabwe who is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium pace bowler. He is a promising allrounder who bats up in the order and bowls some useful seamers.

In 2005 Chibhabha was included in the national side as there was a loss of senior players. He did not have a good start as he was dismissed for a duck in a one-day international against India and also had to struggle in the Under-19 Afro Asian Cup. However in 2006 on the tour of the Caribbean he scored back to back fifties in the opening matches.

Chibhabha was excellently coached under the ZC development programme and has developed a good technique of playing straight. During the West Indies tour he was pestered by a back problem due to which his bowling was hampered. So he was coerced to focus on the batting and he exhibited promise and character for the vital No. 3 position.

Chibhabha was particularly excellent in facing the pace bowlers however there is a necessity to gain experience and build up some big innings. He is also an excellent fielder in the covers.

Major achievements

In the 34 one-day internationals he has played Chibhabha has scored 820 runs at an average of 24.11 which includes 6 half-centuries.
