Ann Elise Strother was born on December 11, 1983 in Castle Rock, Colorado to Kenneth and Janit Strother.
High School
Ann attended Ranch High School, and led her team to state championships as a junior and senior. (She missed her sophomore season due to an ACL tear.)
College
Ann was heavily recruited out of high school, and chose the University of Connecticut. The Huskies won the NCAA championship during her freshman and sophomore years. she graduated from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
WNBA
In the 2006 WNBA Draft, Strother was the 15th overall pick by the Houston Comets -- and was then traded to the Phoenix Mercury for Liz Shimek and Mistie Williams.
Due to recurring foot pain, Ann saw very little playing time in her rookie season, coming off the bench in only 8 games.
During the 2006-07 off-season, the Mercury traded Ann to the Indiana Fever in exchange for veteran center Olympia Scott.
Ann came off the bench in 12 games.
On February 6, 2008 Ann was selected by the Atlanta Dream in the expansion draft. She continues to see little playing time.

In October 2007, Ann was hired as the director of basketball operations for the University of Colorado women's basketball team, serving under head coach Kathy McConnell-Miller.
