30 year old Hee-Won Han became professional golf player in 1998. She started playing golf when she was only nine years old. Right now she also attends the Ryukoku University while actively competes in the game. She has at least 48 recorded victories as an amateur which includes the title she earned in the World Amateur Golf Championship in 1996.
Born on June 10, 1978 in Seoul Korea, Han currently plays in LPGA Tour in the US. She claimed the 1998 Rookie of the Year honours in Japan when she played at the LPGA Japan Tour. That same year she also played at the LPGA of Korea Tour. She won two more events in Japan in the following year which qualified her for the 2000 U.S. based LPGA tour. Starting 2001, Han played mainly in the United States. She won six LPGA Tour events and again became the Rookie of the Year in her first season alone.
Han received other awards aside from those accepted from LPGA Japan and United States. She received two recognitions from NEC Kairuzawa Tournament and the Osaka Women’s Open in 1999. In 2006, she was awarded the LPGA Corning Classic and the Honda LPGA Thailand.
Han’s professional wins in 2006 placed her in the top 6 in the Kraft Nabisco Championship and top 10 in the Women’s British Open. In her 2007 golf tour competition she was tied to the 49th place in the Kraft Nabisco Championship. In 2008, she was top 6 in the same event and tied in the 40th place in the LPGA Championship.
