Kris Newbury is a Canadian center on the Detroit Red Wings.
Newbury put together a successful career in the OHL with the Belleville Bulls and Sarnia Sting after being drafted in 2002 by San Jose. Newbury never played for San Jose, but made his NHL debut in 2006 with Toronto. In 2006-07, Newbury played 15 games with the Leafs, scoring 2 goals and 4 points. He played only 29 more games with the Leafs over the next two seasons, spending most of his time in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies. After becoming a free agent in 2009, Newbury was signed by Detroit.
