Chasity Monique Melvin was born on May 3, 1976 is the daughter of Jimmy and Janet Melvin. She is the middle child of five and has two brothers, Alejandro and Adam, and two sisters, Danielle. (Chasity is the correct spelling.)

College
Chasity attended North Carolina State (NC State), where she played for the Wolfpack.

She was named to 1996-97 Kodak All-America team, and helped lead her team to its first-ever NCAA Final Four appearance during the 1997-98 season. She led the team in scoring all four years, and ranks fourth in school history for career points (2,042) and third for career rebounds (1,020) and field goals made (838). She is the only player in N.C. State history to lead the team in field goal percentage all four years.

ABL
Chasity played one season with the Philadelphia Rage of the ABL, after being the No. 2 selection in the 1998 ABL Draft. She averaged 12.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per game during the 1998-99 season and ranked third in the league in field goal percentage (.556).

WNBA
Chasity has played in the WNBA since 1999, competing for the Cleveland Rockers, the Washington Mystics, and the Chicago Sky.
Through her first nine seasons in the league, she holds career averages of 10.9 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game.

She has also played professionally in Italy, Israel, Spain, Poland, Russia.
