Alessandro Nesta is an Italian football player who plays for AC Milan and Italy's national team. Nesta plays in centre back position.
Alessandro Nesta started to play football in SS Lazio youth academy in 1985. He joined the first team in 1993. He became the captain of SS Lazio in 1997. Alessandro won the 1998 Coppa Italia after beating A.C. Milan in the final. This was followed next year by a UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and European Super Cup in 1999. In 1999-2000 season Alessandro Nesta won the Scudetto and Coppa Italia.

Alessandro Nesta has been in AC Milan since 2002 when he joined from Lazio after 193 appearences. He is widely considered to be one of the best defenders in the world and AC Milan paid €30 million to get him.

2003 Nesta won the UEFA Champions League final in the penalty shootout win over Juventus. In the season 2003-2004 Nesta won the Italian League. In 2007 Nesta won the UEFA Champions League with the 2-1 win over Liverpool FC.

Alessandro Nesta has 78 caps for Italy. And won the FIFA World Championship in 2006 with the Italian team.
