Betty Bernice Lennox is the daughter of Bernice Lennox. She has five brothers: Freddy, Karl, A.B., Alfred and Charles; and three sisters, Lela, Ruby and Victoria.

High School
Betty attended Fort Osage High School in Independence, Missouri, and played under coach Dale Williams.

University
Betty initially attended Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas, where her team won the Junior College National Championship during the 1996-1997 season. She then transferred to Louisiana Tech, where she graduated in 2000.

WNBA
Betty was drafted by the Minnesota Lynx in the 2000 WNBA draft, the sixth overall pick in the first round.

Personal
Betty began the Lennox Foundation 22, to help neglected or abused children, in 2006.
