Stu Barnes is a Canadian center on the Dallas Stars.
Barnes was drafted in 1989 with the 4th overall selection by the Winnipeg Jets. Barnes has been around the league, spending time with the Florida Panthers, the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Buffalo Sabres and finally the Dallas Stars. Barnes went to the Cup Finals with the Panthers, when they lost to the Colorado Avalanche in 1996. He went again in 1999 with the Sabres, when they lost to the Stars in triple overtime.
Barnes was captain of the Sabres until he was traded to Dallas, and has served as an assistant captain when other Dallas captains have been injured.
