Juan Fernando Arango Sáenz, better known simply as Juan Arango, is a Venezuelan international football born of Colombian immigrants who currently features for the Spanish club Real Mallorca. He plays as an attacking midfielder and is considered as one of the best players ever to have played for the South American nation.
Juan Arango made his debut for the Venezuelan club Nueva Cádiz FC in 1996 when he was just 16 years of age and was signed by Caracas in 2000. He was then signed by Mexican club CF Monterrey and later on played for Mexican sides CF Pachuca and CF Puebla.
He was signed by Real Mallorca in the summer of 2004. He quickly settled into life in Spain and became one of the best players for Real Mallorca, topscoring for his club in the 2005-2006 season with 11 goals.
In 2006, EFE chose him as the third best Latin American player in the Spanish league. Arango earned his first international cap for Venezuela in January 1999 in an international friendly against Denmark. He was made the captain of the national side in 2007.
Juan Arango is the fifthe most capped player in the history of Venezuelan international football. He is known as "Arangol" in Venezuela, and has been nicknamed the "Caribbean Hurricane" by Luis Omar Tapia in ESPN's telecasts.
