Sybille Bammer is a female professional Austrian tennis player who was born on April 27, 1980 in Linz, Austria. She started to play the game at age 11 after her mother introduced her to the sport. She is one of the three mothers on the WTA tour, after giving birth to daughter Tina on June 28, 2001.

Bammer first played in the ITF Circuit from 1995 to 1997, when she turned pro. She made her WTA main draw debut in 2000 at the Klagenfurt event. After giving birth to daughter Tina she made her comeback in 2002 and won her first career singles title in Grenoble. In the same year, Bammer won two more ITF singles titles and made her debut for the Austrian Fed Cup Team.

In 2005 she entered the top 100 and made her Grand Slam main draw debut at the US Open. She reached her first WTA tour quarterfinal event in Kolkata and her second at t Linz as a wildcard. Her defeat of Virginie Razzano and Vera Dushevina made her the first Austrian since 2000 to reach the quarterfinals there. After her run at Linz she reached the 77th spot in the world rankings, a new career high.

She made her top 50 debut in 2006 at number 42. In her first Wimbledon main draw, she reached the third round winning over then world number 23 Nathalie Dechy. After beating Dechy in her third career QF in Bangkok she finished the season at number 53.

In 2007, Bammer won her first WTA Tour title and went up in the rankings to rest at number 30, a new career high for the Austrian player. She eventually capped the year at number 19 in the world, becoming the first Austrian female tennis player to do so.

Bammer went on to score the biggest win of her career in 2008 by defeating world number 2 Svetlana Kuznetsova at the Quatar Total Open. She currently holds one WTA title, nine ITF titles and the highest ranking of number 19 achieved on December 7, 2007.
