Victoria Azarenka is a female Belarusian professional tennis player currently residing in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA. She was born on July 31, 1989 to parents Alla and Fedor. It was her mother who introduced her to tennis at age 7 although nobody else in her family actually plays tennis.

Victoria went pro in 2003 and played her first career events on ITF Circuit in Israel, garnering one doubles title. In 2006, she had her first Top 100 finish which was marked by her semi-finals appearance at Tashket. This was also the year where she made her debut at all four Grand Slams.

However, it was in 2007 that was considered to be her breakthrough season. It was highlighted by her first Tour singles finals and wins over Petrova and Sharapova. She was also a runner-up at Estoril and Tashkent. During this year, she started being at No. 124 but finished the season by reaching No. 32. She won her first Grand Slam title in the US Open mixed doubles with partner, Mirnyi. However, she had withdrawn from Budapest and Strasbourg due to injuries.

Victoria plays right-handed with a two-handed backhand. She uses a HEAD Flexipoint Instinct racket, and wears Nike Air Zoom Mystify III shoes.

All through her career, she has 1 ATP title, which was also her Grand Slam title, with mixed doubles partner, Mirnyi. She is currently at her highest career rank of No. 16 for singles and No. 9 for doubles.
