Walter Samuel is an Argentine international footballer who currently fatures for the Italian giants Inter Milan. He plays as a centre-back and is said to be one of the toughest and best defenders in Europe.
Walter Samuel commenced his professional career at Argentine side Newell's Old Boys in 1996 and after one season he was signed by Argentine powerhouse Boca Juniors where he stayed until 2000.
Italian side AS Roma then came calling and signed the player for a staggering 19.8 million euros. He featured in 122 matches for Roma between 2000 and 2004 and won the scudetto with Roma in 2001.
In the summer of 2004, Spanish giants Real Madrid paid Roma 25 million euros for Walter Samuel but he was sold to Inter Milan one year later for 16 million euros after poor performance in the Madrid capital on a four year contract.
Walter Samuel made his Argentine debut in 1999 and played in the 2002 World Cup.
