Ryan Parent is a Canadian defenseman on the Philadelphia Flyers.
Parent was drafted by the Nashville Predators in 2005. He never played with Nashville, but was traded to Philadelphia in 2007. He played his first NHL game on April 5, 2007. He played only 22 games for the Flyers in 2007-08, spending most of the season with the Philadelphia Phantoms. However, Parent got a chance to play in the Eastern Conference Finals, when injuries to Lasse Kukkonen, Braydon Coburn and Kimmo Timonen left the Flyers short on defensive personnel.
Parent played on the 2006 and 2007 Canadian Junior National teams and won two gold medals.
