Henrik Lundqvist is a goalkeeper from Sweden who plays for the New York Rangers and who is considered to be one of the best goalies in the NHL.

He began playing professionally for Swedish Västra Frölunda from Göteborg at 18 and led the team to four playoffs and two championships in 2003 and 2005. He also earned the silver medal with the Swedish national team in 2004. During 2005 his performance was incredible and he broke several records: lowest goals against and most shutouts in a season. He was also named Best Goaltender, Best Swedish Player and was selected as the league's MVP by fellow players.

In March, 2008 Lundqvist became the first NY Rangers goalie since 1928/29 to achieve 10 shutouts in a single season as his team beat the NY Islanders 3-0.

His twin brother is a center for Dallas Stars.
