Spanish and European giants Real Madrid and German Bundesliga side SV Hamburg have agreed on a deal for the movement of Rafael van der Vaart from the AOL Arena to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu next week.
Rafael van der Vaart has been linked with Real since the middle of this month after Real Madrid's other Dutch international footballer Wesley Sneijder revealed that his compatriot was eager to join Real.
The Madrid giants did launch a bid for the Dutch sorcery but at the time they were ready to pay only 6 million euros, a sum and bid which SV Hamburg promptly rejected.
But this week Real Madrid made an improved offer of 10 million euros and Hamburg have agreed to sell the player for the price. So much so that Madrid based Spanish sports daily Marca even reported that the deal shall be finalised next week.
If indeed the deal does get finalized next week, then it shall signal the end of Real's tryst with the odds to induct Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United this summer.
