Saturday, July 26 2008 -- The Liverpool-David Silva links seems to stretch on endlessly as once again. Silva's current club Valencia are in apparent financial crisis and are said to be eager to offload some of the high wage earners so as to maintain some stability at the Mestalla next season.
Although Valencia have gone on public records to say that they have no intension of selling any player, David Silva has consistently been linked with a move to Anfield. So much so that there are certain reports which state that Liverpool are contemplating a formal approach for the player.
Recently Spanish club Sevilla made a bid of 17 million euros for the player but Valencia rejected that bid. Although Liverpool might not go too much beyond that amount, there is a distinct possibility that the Reds might still be able to land Silva at Anfield next season given Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez's good links with Valencia, his former club whom he coached between 2002 and 2004 with huge success.
