Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas said this to the Madrid-based sports daily Marca:
"Who would not like to play for Real Madrid. There are four dream teams for me. Arsenal, AC Milan, Madrid and Barça."
Now, now... It would have been more intelligent not to have disclosed this to the most widely read sports daily in Spain and a daily which supports Real Madrid through and through. Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon promised to sign Fabregas from Arsenal two seasons ago when he jumped into the presidential hotseat at the Bernabeu but has since failed to smuggle in the player.
Fabregas too has denied that he wants to move away from the Emirates where he admits he is happy and ambitious but he has never quite let the prospect of playing for FC Barcelona (again). And now he admits his admiration and latent intention for playing for the biggest and most successful club in the world (aka Real Madrid) and this is indeed something that is not going to go unnoticed by those men in suits in Madrid.
