Malcolm Kelly, who played his college ball for the University of Oklahoma, has inked a $3.36 million deal with the Washington Redskins. The contract covers four years and includes guarantees totaling $1.65 million.

Kelly, who was the 51st pick overall in the 2008 NFL Draft, caught 49 passes for 821 yards and nine touchdowns in his junior year with the Sooners. He declared for the draft after his successful junior season. Kelly, who is six-foot-four and 219 pounds, has the potential to be a go-to wideout.

He reached 1,000 career receiving yards in just 19 games, making him the Oklahoma Sooner to get to that plateau the soonest. He was a Big 12 All-Freshman in 2005 and twice made the All-Big 12 Second Team in 2006 and 2007.

Kelly has fine, big and reliable hands. He possesses excellent bulk and long arms. The receiver has got strength and makes a tall target. The wideout possesses average jumping ability and can often find the seam in the defense. Fine quickness, good balance and the ability to stretch his body out to make the tough catch should serve him well in the NFL.

He's also a good red zone player who can absorb and survive the big hit. He's shown above average athleticism, which makes him a sound professional prospect. However, Kelly can at times get lost in the offense and he lacks maturity. His speed and vertical leap could be better. There are questions concerning his durability and health.

In three years with the Sooners, he played in 39 games, making 144 receptions for 2,285 yards and 21 touchdowns. He averaged 15.9 yards per catch during those three seasons.
