Brennan, who looks to be the future of the Redskins' franchise, underwent minor hip surgery on April 8 to repair his labrum. Although it was thought he might have to sit out training camp, he worked hard to rehab, has been given a clean bill of health and is ready to go. He'll be third on the Skins' depth chart behind quarterbacks Jason Campbell and Todd Collins.

In college, Brennan was known for being an accurate passer, dependable playmaker and fine leader. He won numerous awards during his college year, and in 2007, he led Hawaii to the BCS Sugar Bowl. That year the team was ranked 10th in the nation, finishing with a 12-0 mark. In the Sugar Bowl, the Warriors met the Georgia Bulldogs, losing to them 10-41.

In 2006, Brennan won the Sammy Baugh award for quarterbacking. That year, he set the single-season record for most touchdown passes (58). That same season he set the mark for best passing efficiency (186.0). From 2005-2006, he compiled 9,850 yards in the air—another top NCAA statistic. On November 23, 2007, he set the mark for most career touchdown passes by a college quarterback (131) and the player responsible for most career touchdowns (146). He was an All-American in 2006 and 2007.

The Redskins still have two 2008 draft picks to sign—wideout Devin Thomas and tight end Fred Davis.
