Tuesday, July 8, 2008 - The WNBA had a full slate of games on Tuesday.
The Phoenix Mercury (9-9) defeated the Houston Comets, (9-10) 99-94. In the win, Diana Taurasi became the fastest WNBA player to ever score 3,000 points, doing it in just 151 games.
The Washington Mystics (7-11) beat the Indiana Fever (9-9) by two in a low-scoring game, 50-48. Taj McWilliams-Franklin led the way for the Mystics with 20 points.
The Connecticut Sun (13-7) lost to the Detroit Shock (13-6) again, 88-82. Plenette Pierson scored 23 points for the Shock.
The San Antonio Silver Stars (13-6) beat the New York Liberty (9-9), 83-79. Becky Hammon scored 27 points against her former team as she led the Silver Stars to their fifth straight win.
The Seattle Storm (12-7) defeated the Sacramento Monarchs (8-11), 79-64.
