Russian international striker Andrey Arshavin is reportedly on his way to Premiership giants Chelsea. The 27-year old Zenit St. Pertersburg striker has been linked with a host of major European clubs including FC Barcelona but according to the British tabloid The Mirror, he is now set to join Chelsea.
The Mirror reports that the UEFA Cup winners Zenit have accepted a 12 million pound bid from Chelsea for the player who dazzled at Euro 2008. The tabloid also reports that Arshavin shall move to London later this week to finalise the deal.
Earlier last week it was reported that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wanted at least one fellow Russian footballer in the Chelsea set-up for next season and it now seems that he would now have Arshavin as his fellow Russian at Stamford Bridge next season.
