[{Chelsea]] striker Andriy Shevchenko has almost finalised his move back to Italy this summer but not to his former side AC Milan.
According to reports Secolo XIX, the Ukranian international striker himself has agreed to the move after enduring two abject seasons at Stamford Bridge. He has been linked with a move back to the Italian Serie A since the summer of 2006 and he has now appeared to have accepted that he belongs to Italian football.
But the name of Sampdoria of course doesn't at all seem to have been on the transfer conspirators' mind but it seems that Sheva now wants to move to Italy so desperately that he has agreed to play Sampdoria for the 2007-2008 season.
At the time, a loan deal between Chelsea and Sampdoria is being mooted although Chelsea want to sell the player.
