Tamika Catchings of the Fever scored a season-high 18 points (having recently returned from an injury), Katie Douglas put in 12 points, and Tammy Sutton-Brown added 11 points and pulled down 12 rebounds.

For the Sky, Candice Dupree finished with 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Dominique Canty put in 16.

The Sky had won two in a row following a 5-game losing streak, while the Fever broke a 2-game losing streak of their own.

In Women's College Basketball, the pay gap between women's coach Pat Summitt and men's coach Bruce Pearl increased today, as Pearl received a raise that will enable him to make an average of $2.3 million a year.

Pat Summitt makes a little over $1 million a year (and made less than Pearl even before he got his raise).

Pearl has been with the Vols for a couple of years, and has no NCAA championships, either at any other place he coached, or at Tennessee. Pat Summitt has coached for over 30 years at Tennessee, and has won 8 championships, adding the two latest to her resume in 2007 and 2008.

Summitt's contract is still under renegotion after her latest championship.

And regardless of what her new compensation will turn out to be... Tennessee is increasing the cost of the football tickets to pay for her raise, as well as that of Pearl.

That's the case for practically all universities - it's the football team that pays the bills for every other sports program, as well as for itself.

However, although the salary gap between the 8-time champion Pat Summitt and the 0-time champion Bruce Pearl would seem to be a strange one... it must be admitted that as far as women's basketball coaches are concerned, Pat Summitt was the highest paid coach in the country, and had been for a couple of years - until Geno Auriemma recieved a new contract a few weeks ago which put him on top. Summitt's compensation will undoubtedly be at least equivalent to Auriemma's, if not to Pearl's.
