Monday, April 7 2008 -- FC Barcelona technical director Txiki Begiristain has denied that Italian giants AC Milan have been in contact with them over a possible move for Ronaldinho in the summer. Ronaldinho has been speculated to leave Camp Nou at the end of the season and although Chelsea are slated to be the other big fish to take in the Brazilian ace, Milan are supposedly the stronger contenders for the signature of the Brazilian international midfielder.
Begiristain says:
"We have no proof of any interest. I do not want to touch on that because all we want is that he recovers as soon as possible. Now is not the time to analyse anything."
Last week AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi declared that the Rosonerri would be glad to embrace the 27-year old two times FIFA Player of the Year and although Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has hinted that he would not put Ronaldinho at the top of his wish-list in the summer, there is no denying that Ronaldinho would be welcomed at the red and black half of Milan.
Ronaldinho has been utterly out of form this season for Barcelona in La Liga and has even been dropped by Barca coach Frank Rijkaard this season! He has lost a major chink of his form and just before Barcelona's match in the Spanish first division this weekend, he was ruled out of six weeks with a thigh strain, one of the several injuries that Ronnie have had to suffer over the last 9 or so months.
