The Pakistani cricket team is beset with several divisions. In spite of the best efforts of Nasim Ashraf the cricket board chief the skipper Shoiab Malik is not getting along well with the selectors. Ashraf interacted individually with the members of the national team but his try seems futile. The condition is exacerbated by the fact that the coach Geoff Lawson is not having camaraderie with the senior players of the team and there are reports of arguments between the coach and some players.

However as was expected Ashraf did not accept that there were any problems between the selectors and the management or between the team members. On Saturday evening Ashraf was present during the net session of the team at National Bank complex. Regarding this presence he commented that his duty was to actuate and inspire the players and hence he had come at the net session.

Ashraf made it known that Pakistan had a clear selection system. The final eleven at home are chosen by the selectors and the final eleven abroad by the team management. In both these cases one party considers the inputs from the other.

Ashraf accepted that there was a difference in opinion between the selectors and the skipper and the coach but said that these differences were healthy and did not mean that there were serious divisions within the team.
