Second Knee Surgery For Tiger

Doctor Operating on Tiger Woods' knee says "no surprises"

Tiger Woods got his second knee surgery in 10 weeks.Woods, having undergone a previous knee surgery underwent the same procedure this time to address a torn anterior cruciate ligament. The doctors report that the surgery, performed last June 24, Tuesday in Utah, was successful. They believe that it is "highly unlikely" that Woods would suffer long-term effects of the process.

As what Dr. Thomas Rosenberg said, "there were no surprises during the procedure, and as we have said, with the proper rehabilitation and training, it is highly unlikely that Mr. Woods will have any long-term effects as it relates to his career."

The surgery was performed a week after Tiger Woods won the U.S. Open against Rocco Mediate. It was revealed that Woods was also suffering from a double stress fracture in his left tibia.

As an effect of the current surgery, the golfing world's number one player will be out for the rest of the season. Unfortunately, that means he will be missing out on the Ryder Cup, and two more major championships.

Woods has stated that it was quite imperative that he have the surgery done and over with so that he will be able to go through the rehabilitation process as soon as possible.

Woods hopes to recover fully by working hard at his rehabilitation so that he will be able to return to the PGA Tour next year. However, no news or information has been given as to when he will be starting his rehabilitation or any set date for his impending return.
