June 21, 2008- Peter O' Malley, and Australian golfer, gave a six-under 66 shot which was matched by Mardan Mamat from Singapore, Anton Haig, from South Africa, and Rafa Echinique from Argentina. The group was a stroke ahead from Argentinian golfer, Daniel Vancsik, South African Thomas Aiken, Britons, David Lynn and Mark Foster and Frenchman Jean-Baptiste Gonnet.
Turning 43 next month, O' Malley specifically tied for the lead in the BMW International Open after the first round. His 20th year in the 400th European tour event is drawing near. He claims that his aspirations maybe too high but still looks forward to getting the fourth title in seven years. He already claimed his third title in the previous event and earning another one will increase his ranking in the money list.
He gave further statement that he never had any dramatic injuries in his sporting career life. He wants to put drama in his winning a game in whatever competition he joins in. The nearer the day of the British Open, the more he has to play good golf. Though he claimed that he wants to avoid playing qualifications for the British Open, O' Malley believes that it will be the key to raise his game.
