The biggest names in the world of golf, like Tiger Woods and Greg Norman supports the campaign in reintroducing the game to the Olympics after more than 100 years of not being part of the Game. Aaron Baddeley from Australia was the newest member to join the crusade, believing that it would boost the integrity of golf as becoming a world sport.

However, former US Open Champion and number 5 in the world ranking, Greg Oglivy opposes the idea. He was against the promotion of adding golf into the 2016 Olympic Games. When asked why, he expressed that professional golf does not need the Olympics or Olympics does not need professional golf. He continued to state that if it does join in the Game, it is more preferable that only the amateurs compete for the sake of promoting the true Olympic spirit, and not the professionals.

In contrast, world no. 18 Baddeley spoke that golf is becoming more and more of a world sport especially in this generation. More and more countries are already embracing the sports into their own. He thinks that golf joining the Olympics would be best and best for the Olympics as well.

Golf as a sport wasn't part of the Game since 1904. Today it is competing to get one of the two available spot in the 2016 Olympics. Other sports that are also battling to join in are squash, rugby, karate, baseball, softball, baseball, and roller sports.
