The annual event was of Olymic-distance and comprised of a 1500m swim in the River Thames, a 42 kilometre bike ride through the Berkshire villages surrounding the river and ended with a 10 kilometre run through Windsor's Great Park.

"I'm absolutely chuffed to bits," said the 28 year-old on Honda's official website. "I was hoping to break 2 hours 30 minutes so I am very happy with my result and really enjoyed it. It was a fantastic experience. I was in agony on the run after pushing hard on the bike, but the crowds were a great support."

The driver was accompanied by his physio, Mike Collier. Collier finished in 201st place with a time of 2 hrs, 34 minutes and 19 seconds.

The Honda Racing F1 race driver will now take some well deserved time off to rest his body after the strenuous workout before preparing himself for the race weekend at Magny Cours, France.
