Liverpool star left back John Arne Riise has been supposedly on the move to Italian giants AS Roma for days but that transfer is ye to come to fruition. Although it is expected that Riise will move out of Anfield this summer, it is stillto be formuated into something concrete.
The Norwegian ace has now said that move to AS Roma remains open still. He does hint at moving out of Liverpool for whom he has featured since 2001 and told VG:
"At the moment, it's 50-50 that I will change employer, but things might happen before the re-start in England.
"I have only got one year left on my contract and that means the price could be lower.
"I need to play. I need to be at a club where I can progress."
Roma though have received an official confirmation to talk to Riise who is known for his fiercesome strike with the ball. A statement by the Italian reads as follows:
"In light of recent negotiations with Liverpool over the purchase of John Arne Riise on a permanent basis, Roma can now confirm that we have received permission from the English club to talk with the player’s agent to see if we can reach an economic agreement and, if this happens, arrange a medical for the player."
John Arne Riise has one more left on his current contract.
