I bought MLB.TV at the beginning of the season, so that I can watch any and all MLB games on my computer while I'm simultaneously working on my various projects.
It's a reasonable price -- $89.95 if you want TV quality viewing, $59.95 if you're satisfied with decent quality (that's me!), and $14.95 if you're satisfied with radio.
But what really irritates me is their blackout policy.
I've paid for these games, yet I cannot watch the Orioles on MLB.TV because I live in that area. Well, this isn't a hardship. My teams are the Mariners (sob) and the Red Sox. But whenever my teams play the Orioles -- I can't watch them, and that really irritates me.
You can understand it, in a sense, if the games were taking place locally. The baseball team wants people to come to the park, so they black out the TV to force people to buy tickets for the games. But considering that the Orioles play way up in Maryland and I live way down in the Tidewater area of Virginia, it's just ridiculous to penalize me since I can't get to the games anyway.
But what really, really irritates me is when the Orioles are playing *in* Seattle or *in* Boston, and I *still* can't watch the game! That just makes no sense to me.
Of course baseball is not the only sport to do this. Typically football games are blacked out in local areas unless the arena is sold out.
But when you've paid money to be able to see games on your computer, you should be able to see any game you want!!
