Ellsbury Returns, Red Sox Lose

Jacoby Ellsbury had missed the last few games with a wrist sprain, but was in the lineup for tonight's game of the Boston Red Sox vs the Baltimore Orioles, the first in a three game series between the two clubs at Fenway Park.

Josh Beckett, the starter for the Sox, did not have his best stuff, and gave up 4 runs in the second inning.

The Sox were able to come back, however, and took a 6-4 lead, which unfortunately reliever Hideki Okajima subsequently relinquished. When it comes to bete noir's - the bete noir for Okajima is the Orioles.

Baltimore scored 3 more runs in the 9th inning to give them a 10-6 victory.

Manny Ramirez continues to recover from a sore hamstring and DH-ed, so it was CoCo Crisp, Jacoby Ellsbury and JD Drew in the outfield.

Ramirez continued his homerun march, with his 15th homer of the season and 505th of his career. This snapped a tie with former Oriole Eddie Murray and sent Ramirez into 23rd place on the career list.
