Friday, June 6 2008 -- Premiership side Tottenham Hotspur have signed one of the most promising young players in the world in Giovani Dos Santos from Spanish and European giants FC Barcelona. The transfer fee is said to be 4.7 million pounds.
The 19-year old Mexican international is one of the most promising youngsters in the world and made his debut for the senior side of blaugranas in the 2007-2008 season after graduating from Barca's youth academy. But he was handed only a few opportunities for the outgoing Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard and was already a foot out of the Camp Nou cathedral.
Giovano Dos Santos was thought to move to Manchester City but he has ultimately signed for Spurs mainly because of the club's manager Juande Ramos. Barca though do retain 20% of the financial rights to any possible transfer of the player during his first two years in North London and 10% thereafter.
