Luis Figo On His Inter Milan Future

Tuesday, May 27, 2008 -- Italian powerhouse Inter Milan might still be basking in the second successive scudetto conquest in the Italian Serie A but a blanket of uncertainly is gradually darkening the club. The breaking of the million dollar news story by the Portuguese sports daily "A Bola" about the former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho taking over the managerial responsibilities of the club is just the latest rock to hit the club.

It's no big secret that there are tensions between the club and current coach Roberto Mancini and that is why Inter seem to be on the hunt for a new coach. To make matters worse Inter's star player Luis Figo has subtly remarked that he would like Mancini to go and if the Italian doesn't go, then he would have to take his bow.

Figo and Mancini have shared a tough time in the 2997-2008 season with none being able to look the other in the eye. Figo has been disgruntled for being substituted far too often than he would have liked by Mancini and he now remarks that should Mancini stay on at Inter, it would become impossible for him to stay in the blue and black half of Milan.

Figo told "A Bola":

"I have the physical condition to do one more season, but I only want to have the same status as my team-mates.

"If there is a change in the team's coach, then I will have a lot more of a chance of staying at Inter. Otherwise, it will be nearly impossible to stay.

"My situation this year was not the most pleasant one. I know I can do a lot more: I had some injuries and I had to undergo surgery."

Jose Mourinho to Inter Milan then, Figo? Guess we all know the answer, don't we?
