Edwards plays down disappointment

Monday, November 16, 2009 -- For Charlotte Edwards, the England Captain, it was a hard day with reactions after her side suffered shocking defeat to West Indies in both one day and Twenty20 series. Charlotte is one of the handful players of the England team who has enhanced the team’s reputation on the tour. Without her, the team will reflect individually on their own performances as they head forward planning their own defense of the ICC World Twenty20 crown which will be held in the Caribbean.

Edwards commented that in spite of losing; it is not the end of the world. She scored 29 runs in the final Twenty20 international where her team won by six wickets. Rather than changing the course of the way they have planned so far, the best weapon is sheer hard work.
Each and every player knows what it takes to win the game in a better way, technically and mentally. With World title winners in 50 overs and 20-20 format, the England team are more enthusiastic. Disappointed with their recent losing to West Indies, the team was outplayed by a very good West Indian team as per Edwards’s opinion. The team focuses on improving more and looking ahead in winning more matches than expected.
