Pellegrini Hopeful Of Cup Progress

Monday, November 9, 2009 -- Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini has admitted that winning against Alcorcon in the return leg of their Copa del Rey on Tuesday would not be easy but is hopeful that they can do it.

Madrid suffered a 4-0 defeat to Segunda Division B side away in the first leg and now face a daunting task of overhauling that deficit at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday.

Pellegrini has been quoted as saying:

"Coming back from a 4-0 deficit is always hard, but we know we can do it. We have the talent. We are very anxious to get out there and to play with intensity. We cannot rush ourselves and we need to make Alcorcon feel like they are playing against the entire Santiago Bernabeu.

"We have the willingness and team spirit, and we need to show it on the pitch. I think there has always been a good atmosphere in the dressing room. The players have faith in what they do and it translates into how they play and the final outcomes."
