Beckham is currently playing for MLS club LA Galaxy and is said to be happy at the moment. But England coach Fabio Capello has made it clear that for Beckham to play in the 2010 World Cup finals he has to play for a European club.

Beckham, it seems, has got the message and has declared in no uncertain terms of his desire to return to Milan for another six-month loan deal. The former Real Madrid and Manchester United midfielder enjoyed a fruitful six-month loan stint with Milan in the second half of last season.

Beckham has been quoted by the Gazzetta dello Sport as saying:

"It's simple, I want to return to Milan and Milan would be happy to have me back. There are no real negotiations in progress because there is still time. Now I am thinking of the Galaxy, then [after the MLS season is over] I will think of other things."

"I don't see what problems there might be [in returning to Milan]. I don't think there will be any difficulties and I think I will come back to Italy at the reopening of the transfer market in January."
